This edition by Marguerite Humeau was produced on the occasion of the artist’s solo exhibition at Nottingham Contemporary in 2016, FOXP2, Humeau’s first major solo show in a UK gallery.
This work references microscopic images of a mutated FOXP2 gene – the protein gene that is essential for human development of speech and language.
All profits raised from the sale of this limited-edition work support Nottingham Contemporary’s free programme of exhibitions, educational activities and research programmes.

Marguerite Humeau (b.1986) is a French born, London-based artist whose work can be found in museums collections such as the Tate, London; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin; MoMA, New York; Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris; and X Museum, Beijing.
Her research led process typically takes the form of large-scale installations involving sound and abstract form sculpture. Humeau has described herself as an “Indiana Jones in Google times.”
