£450.00

This edition has been generously created by Klaus Weber as part of a group of specially commissioned artist’s editions on the occasion of Nottingham Contemporary’s 10-year anniversary.

Flask of Plenty (real thing) is a proposal for a small fountain feature. Each work in the series comprises a real bear bottle, with a copper inlet pipe. The sculpture can either be installed as a functioning fountain, or as an upright abstract poetic sculpture.

The edition derives from Weber’s original version of the sculpture, entitled Flask of Plenty. Cast in bronze and also installed as a fountain, the title of the work implies a bountiful abundance. Weber’s edition Flask of Plenty (Real Thing) questions it’s own authenticity; which is the real thing, the bronze, or the discarded beer bottle.

*Please note that installation of this work is not included in the price and cannot be provided by Nottingham Contemporary.
