Lucy Stein, Invoking the Goddess, 2017
Nottingham ContemporarySilkscreen print onto Fabriano Artistico Traditional off-white paper 200gsm
33 x 24 cm
Limited Edition of 40
Signed and numbered by the artist
This edition was produced by Lucy Stein on the occasion of Nottingham Contemporary’s 10th anniversary in 2019.
The work depicts Epona, the Celtic goddess of mares and foals (a nod to Stein’s home in rural Cornwall). Epona is surrounded by names of goddesses from the global pantheon, whose names are written anti-clockwise – or “widdershins” in magical practice – to indicate a feeling of invocation and devotion.
All profits raised from the sale of this limited-edition work support Nottingham Contemporary’s free programme of exhibitions, educational activities and research programmes.
Please note that orders of artists' editions can take up to 2-4 weeks to process. Please allow for this when making your order.
